Roman money and shops
Slaves did the shopping for rich Roman famillies.They would go to the shop and buy whatever was needed.
The shops in a town would usually be in the forum which was like a market place. The shops would have counters thar opened up onto the street with shutters folded back.
Roman money was in metal coins. One coin was called a denarius. It was made from melted metal . The coins were used to pay for fruit and vegetables.
1 gold Aureus = 25 Denarii
1silver Denarus = 4 sesteri
