ROMAN TOWNS
The forum was the main market place. People would bye all sorts of things like clothes, pottery and food. Rich people and poor people would shop there . You would usually see dancers. Their job was to dance for the people and then they would have to throw her money .
The romans built their first real road in Britan. They were so well built that you can still see them today. They put layers of different kinds of rock and stones down to make them strong and last a long time. Roman legionaries had to do most of the work, they would decide where to build them and they would build them too.
The Romans had a story about how the first city of Rome was built. Romulus and Remus were twin brothers and when they were born their uncle tried to drown them by throwing them into the River Tiber. They were rescued by a female wolf who looked after them. It was Romulus who built the first city of Rome and became the king.
