Last week years 4, 5 and 6 were able to take part in Roller Racing, thanks to Dave Toombs and his team from Hackney Council. Dave and his team set up four fixed bikes, which were all connected to rollers, allowing children to cycle as fast as they possibly could, trying to beat the clock, while their bikes remained static. As each group of children competed, their class mates cheered them on.

Everyone really enjoyed the experience. Ismail from Year 4 said "It was really good - it tested us on our speed and it really, really exercised our legs!" Roderick, our lead cycling instructor said "Having Roller Racing in the school was a great opportunity for us, because regardless of whether you're a confident cyclist or not,  you can still compete. The event helped to bring to our attention some very talented speed cyclists, who we can develop and recruit to our cycle racing team, and it inspired everyone to raise their game!"
